The VPI Signature DS brings key engineering concepts from VPI’s Signature 21 platform into a more accessible high-end analogue turntable. It combines a substantial 12-inch, 20 lb aluminum platter with a JMW-10-3D Gimbal Tonearm, HW-40 isolation feet, and a double-stacked chassis with a metal dampening plate.
Designed as a serious vinyl playback platform, the Signature DS focuses on mechanical stability, vibration isolation, precise tonearm adjustment and consistent platter rotation.

Jmw-10-3d Gimbal Tonearm
The Signature DS is supplied with VPI's JMW-10-3D Gimbal Tonearm, providing a full gimbal bearing arrangement and VPI Copper Weave internal wiring.
The tonearm uses VPI's 3D construction approach incorporating materials including epoxy resin, Delrin, copper, aluminum and steel. Its adjustment system includes an adjustable counterweight, azimuth side weights and VTA adjustment, allowing precise cartridge setup.

Double-Stacked Chassi
The Signature DS uses a double-stacked chassis with a metal dampening plate, creating a substantial mechanical platform for the platter bearing and tonearm.
The chassis composition is specified as vinyl-wrapped MDF and steel. This high-mass construction is designed to provide a rigid foundation while controlling unwanted mechanical vibration.
20-Lb Aluminum Platter
A substantial 12-inch aluminum platter weighing 20 lbs forms the heart of the Signature DS's rotational platform.
The platter's high mass provides significant rotational inertia, while the precision drive system is designed around consistent platter rotation for analogue playback.
Hw-40 Isolation Feet
The Signature DS comes standard with HW-40 isolation feet, derived from VPI's high-performance isolation technology.
The adjustable feet provide mechanical isolation between the turntable and its supporting surface, helping create a stable platform for the platter and tonearm.
Precision Motor & Belt Drive
The Signature DS uses a 300 RPM motor with a motor pulley accuracy specification of ±0.0005".
The turntable uses manual belt positioning for 33 RPM and 45 RPM operation. VPI's official manual specifies positioning the belt on the appropriate pulley section for each speed. An optional Analog Drive System (ADS) is available for additional speed control.
