The VPI Classic Signature is a high-end analogue turntable built around VPI's distinctive Classic platform, combining substantial mass, precision machining and a heavily damped chassis architecture.
The Classic Signature features a ½-inch machined aluminum plinth bonded to a ⅛-inch steel sub-plate and 2 inches of MDF, creating a substantial laminated chassis designed to control unwanted resonance. It is paired with a 20 lb 6061 aluminum and stainless-steel platter, precision inverted bearing and VPI's JMW 3D-10 tonearm with Discovery internal wiring.

Jmw 3d-10 Tonearm
The Classic Signature is equipped with VPI's JMW 3D-10 tonearm, incorporating VPI's 3D-printed tonearm technology.
The arm is designed around a low-resonance structure and is supplied with Discovery wiring from the cartridge through to the RCA or XLR output connection. Its adjustment system provides control over cartridge alignment and tonearm geometry.

High-Mass 20-Lb Platter
The Classic Signature uses a 20 lb platter machined from 6061 aluminum and stainless steel.
VPI specifies platter run-out of ±0.001 inch over a 39-inch circumference. The platter operates on a precision inverted bearing system designed to maintain stable platter rotation and minimize unwanted mechanical movement.
Precision Inverted Bearing
The platter bearing uses a precision shaft with a hardened and polished bearing surface running against a PEEK thrust disc, while lateral thrust is handled by graphite-lubricated composite bronze bushings.
The belt runs around the platter through the center of the bearing assembly. VPI's design places the motor, platter and tonearm in a rigid mechanical relationship intended to minimize unwanted movement and preserve rotational stability.
