Rogers LS5/9 Classic SE Speakers (Pair)
Bbc-Licensed Monitor Speakers With Natural Tonality And Refined Musical Detail
The Rogers LS5/9 Classic SE is a premium, BBC-licensed loudspeaker designed for listeners who value natural tonal balance, lifelike vocal reproduction and an honest connection with music. Handmade in England, the Classic SE builds on the respected LS5/9 monitor design with upgraded crossover components and refined construction for improved separation, bass performance and stereo imaging.
The LS5/9 Classic SE is designed to reveal the character of a recording without imposing an artificial sonic signature. Its carefully developed two-way bass-reflex architecture combines a 34mm Audax tweeter with phase correction and a 210mm polypropylene mid/bass driver, delivering the open, natural and highly coherent presentation for which the LS5/9 design is known.

A Classic Bbc Monitor, Refined For Today
The LS5/9 has long been respected for its natural presentation and ability to reproduce voices, instruments and acoustic spaces with remarkable realism. The Classic SE retains this core character while introducing carefully considered upgrades designed to further improve the listening experience.
The result is a loudspeaker that combines classic monitor discipline with a more refined presentation, offering improved separation, bass definition and stereo imaging while retaining the natural tonal balance that defines the LS5/9 design.
Natural, Open And Highly Resolving Performance
The LS5/9 Classic SE is designed to present music with a natural and uncoloured character. Its carefully matched driver system and refined crossover work together to create a coherent presentation with excellent vocal clarity and realistic instrumental timbre.
Whether reproducing intimate acoustic recordings, vocal performances, jazz ensembles or large-scale orchestral music, the LS5/9 Classic SE is designed to preserve the character and balance of the original recording.
Special Edition Crossover Refinement
For the Classic SE version, Rogers revisited the crossover design and upgraded the inductor cores. The use of high-quality dust iron cores, rather than lower-cost ferrite alternatives, is designed to complement the tonal balance of the Panzaholz baffle and provide a more natural and refined presentation.
These carefully selected crossover components contribute to the Classic SE's improved separation, bass performance and stereo image.
Handmade Cabinet Construction
The LS5/9 Classic SE uses a 9mm birch plywood cabinet supported by hardwood battens. This construction approach reflects the traditional BBC monitor design philosophy, where careful cabinet behaviour is an important part of achieving a natural and controlled sound.
The cabinet is finished in selected real wood veneers, while the black Tygan grille completes the classic monitor aesthetic.
