Brown Sugar enhances any sound system, regardless of where it is used. This high-tech speaker cable consists of three bundles of different thicknesses, one of which contains a 0.85mm² BassCore conductor. This reduced the undesirable skin effect in the conductors. In addition, all conductors in it are separately insulated, and the cable is terminated with Solid Grip banana plugs, which are tightly compressed with the conductors, eliminating empty spaces between them.
Melodika BSSC5010
Melodika Brown Sugar BSSC50xx is the Polish-made speaker cable with 24k gold-plated banana plugs. It is based on high-quality Melodika BSC2250 cable which displays an advanced construction featuring advanced design solutions such as Multi-Gauge Core and Spiral Litz. The new, preeminent Solid Grip Technology employed in the Melodika BSSC50xx cable ensures the tight, permanent connection of the plugs to the speaker cable, without the use of soldering.
Solid Grip Technology, i.e. pressing instead of a screw clamp
When connecting loudspeakers and audio amplifier with a bare wire causes the exposed copper to oxidize quickly which increases the cable resistance and has a detrimental effect on the sound fidelity. That is the reason why high-class cables rely on f.e. banana plugs.
Contrary to the standard connection technique, i.e. the use of screw terminals, Solid Grip Technology consists in crimping a properly prepared plug on the loudspeaker cable with a press. This allows all conductors to be tightly pressed together with the plug in a way that eliminates gaps between them and maximizes the contact area. The monolith obtained this way forms a smooth, uninterrupted signal path, which significantly reduces the connection resistance.
The cable and plug which are pressed together with Solid Grip Technology offer a much higher conductivity than a terminal made with screws or soldered joints. The solution employed in Melodika BSSC50xx provides a reliable, durable connection that is resistant to oxidation and offers excellent electrical conductivity with reduced resistance. Moreover, plugs are 24k gold plated so they also does not oxidize and thus, allow the low resistance connection during the whole time of cable utilization.
24K gold plated plugs ensure that they do not oxidize in the air. In this way, low resistance can be maintained throughout the wire's usage period. The Melodika Brown Sugar BSSC50xx is a speaker cable that delivers a very realistic and well-organized sound stage, high-level sound separation, controlled low frequencies, and slightly smoothed high frequencies.
Multi-Gauge Core Technology responds to the fact that the wire thickness affects its electrical properties. Multi-Gauge Core Technology is the special cable construction which employs conductors of different thicknesses for low, medium and high tones. Due to the variable magnetic interactions of the current with itself, the higher the frequency of the signal, the more it tends to flow over the surface of the conductor. In result, increase in frequency causes decrease in utilization of conductor cross-section and consequently, an increase in cable impedance for high frequencies which, obviously, is not advantageous to sound quality. The signal begins to flow unevenly (also due to phase shifts) and there is a loss of quiet components, which in the listening experience is defined as lack of air or subtle information.
No skin effect
The higher the frequency transmitted by the line, the more current tends to flow on the surface of the guide. It happens because of variable magnetic interactions of the current with itself. And so, the higher the frequency, the closer to the surface of the conductor current is flowing. It is not a good effect, because with the increasing of the frequency, used guide surface is decreasing, which results in an increase of the cable impedance for high frequencies. The signal begins to flow unequally (also because of phase shifts) and there is a loss of very quiet components, which in the listetning sensations is called the lack of air or subtle information. Therefore Melodika Brown Sugar BSC2500 has three different thickness of guides.
Melodika Brown Sugar BSC2250 employs high-quality Polish OFC copper with a purity of 99.9999% and consists of strands of three thicknesses; Each of them has been engineered to utilise the best sound quality of low, medium and high frequencies:
· One single, thickest core for deep bass with cross-section ca 0,85mm2 e.g. organ, double bass or cinema effects
· 9 medium thick wires with a total cross-section of 1.90 mm2 - for a saturated sound of a med range, e.g. guitar, piano, saxophonefor
· 17 thin strands with a total cross-section: 2.20 mm2 - for clean and accurate transmission of the highest frequencies
Twisted Cores
The construction based on two braids of spirally twisted conductors ensures elimination of self-interference. The use of a braided (twisted) sleeve causes the cable's sensitivity to interference to be low. The current induced in one conductor has a direction opposite to the current induced in the adjacent conductor, so the interference cancels each other out. The propagator of this solution was Alexander Graham Bell (a scientist, inventor of the telephone, and dozens of other telecommunications inventions), who demonstrated in 1881 that this method of arranging wires reduces the impact of EMI interference and mutual interference known as crosstalk.
Litz construction - Spiral Litz Technology (each guide separately insulated and twisted)
Many single cores are placed in separate isolation. In each core flows total current located on the power amplifier output. This solution is much better than standard cables like "strand, " type because electrons do not jump from strand to strand, flowing his own path without interruption.
Moving of electrons from strand to strand is undesirable effect that causes the loss of the so-called subtle information. The most important benefit of this technology is the equal current distribution throughout the cross-section of the cable, thereby increasing the efficiency of power transmission. Skin-effect is virtually eliminated. Coated guides also prevent oxidation of copper.
The triple low-capacitance dielectric insulation made of LDPE (foamed low-density polyethylene) provides the lossless signal transmission and, additionally, does not hide the real cable construction.
