Fully Balanced Dac Architecture

The TS-1 uses a fully balanced digital-to-analogue architecture with an AK4493SEQ DAC for each channel. The dual DAC configuration operates with independent power-supply sections, with each DAC receiving power through dedicated ultra-low-noise LDO regulation.

This architecture is designed to maintain channel separation and low-noise signal conversion while providing the resolution required for high-quality digital music playback.

Refined Headphone Amplification

The TS-1 incorporates a fully balanced, high-bias discrete headphone amplifier designed to drive a broad range of headphones and in-ear monitors.

The 4.4mm balanced output provides up to 1,000mW into 33Ω and 300Ω loads, while the 6.35mm single-ended output provides up to 1,400mW into 33Ω. The amplifier's low output impedance is designed to provide effective control across a wide range of headphone loads.

Two output-gain settings allow the TS-1 to accommodate both sensitive IEMs and higher-impedance full-size headphones.

Desktop To Living Room

The TS-1 is designed to adapt to different listening environments rather than being restricted to a conventional Hi-Fi rack.

Connect a pair of active speakers directly through the XLR or RCA outputs for a minimalist desktop system, or connect it to an active-speaker setup in the living room. HDMI ARC also allows television audio to be incorporated without requiring a separate DAC or preamplifier.

Dedicated Subwoofer Output

A dedicated subwoofer output makes the TS-1 particularly useful with compact active speakers.

The output is designed to handle frequencies below 150Hz, with volume synchronisation maintained with the main line outputs. This makes it possible to build a compact 2.1-channel system while extending the low-frequency performance of smaller active speakers.

Local Music, Nas & Internal Storage

The TS-1 can access music stored on network-attached storage and supports mounting NAS drives directly to the device.

Its internal M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD slot allows additional storage to be installed, while SMB connectivity allows computers on the same network to access and manage the stored music. The TS-1 can also operate as a network storage source for compatible streamers.

Two USB 3.0 ports provide additional storage connectivity and support FAT, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS file systems.

Optional Linear Power Supply

The TS-1 includes a dedicated DC power input that allows users to connect a compatible external linear power supply.

When external DC power and AC power are connected simultaneously, the system prioritises the external power input. Matrix Audio also incorporates power filtering and multiple low-noise LDO stages to provide independent power regulation for different circuit sections.
