Powerful Integrated Amplification

At the heart of the MD-1P is a high-efficiency amplification stage delivering 2 × 300W RMS at 8Ω. The amplifier is designed for strong control and stability, making it suitable for both compact bookshelf speakers and demanding floorstanding loudspeakers. The MD-1P supports speaker loads from 2–16Ω when using a single output pair, while simultaneous A+B operation supports 4–16Ω loads.

Its low output impedance of less than 3mΩ contributes to precise control of the connected loudspeaker, while the amplifier's 122dB A-weighted SNR helps maintain a clean and detailed presentation.

Precision Digital Audio Architecture

The MD-1P combines a high-performance DAC architecture with Matrix Audio's FPGA-based digital processing and dual femtosecond clock system.

The dual clocks provide dedicated reference signals for 44.1kHz, 48kHz and their multiples, while the FPGA performs clock division and jitter-reduction processing. This architecture is designed to preserve timing accuracy and minimise unwanted digital artefacts.

USB Audio supports PCM resolutions up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD playback up to DSD512, making the MD-1P suitable for high-resolution digital music libraries.

Complete Streaming Ecosystem

The MD-1P is more than a conventional integrated amplifier. Its MA Player platform provides a complete network music environment, allowing users to access streaming services, local music libraries and network storage from one device.

It supports Roon Ready, Qobuz Connect, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and UPnP/DLNA, along with internet radio services. Control is provided through the Matrix Audio MA Remote App.

The MD-1P also includes an M.2 NVMe SSD expansion slot, allowing internal music storage to be added and managed directly through the system.

Flexible Digital & Analogue Connectivity

The MD-1P is designed to accommodate modern digital sources as well as traditional analogue components.

Digital connectivity includes coaxial, optical, USB Audio and HDMI ARC inputs. For wireless sources, high-resolution Bluetooth supports LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC.

Analogue connectivity includes balanced XLR and RCA line inputs, while the integrated MM phono stage provides a convenient solution for vinyl playback without requiring a separate phono preamplifier.
