Lehmann Audio Black Cube Se Phono Preamplifier
The Power-Enhanced Black Cube For Refined, Dynamic Vinyl Playback
The Lehmann Audio Black Cube SE is a high-performance MM/MC phono preamplifier designed for serious vinyl systems where greater authority, openness and musical refinement are required. Building on the proven Black Cube circuit, the SE version adds Lehmann Audio's more powerful PWX external power supply to deliver enhanced power reserves and a more effortless presentation.
Designed and engineered in Germany, the Black Cube SE combines precision passive RIAA equalisation, low-noise input stages and flexible cartridge matching with a dedicated high-capacity power supply. The result is a sophisticated phono stage designed to extract greater bass authority, relaxed midrange reproduction and enhanced openness from a high-quality vinyl system.

Shielded Power Connection – Uses gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors between the audio section and PWX power supply.
-
Compact Dual-Unit Design – Allows flexible placement close to the turntable while maintaining a discreet system footprint.
The Black Cube With Greater Power Reserves
The Black Cube SE retains the core circuit design of the classic Black Cube while adding the significantly more powerful PWX power supply. This upgrade is designed to provide greater power reserves for complex musical passages and demanding recordings.
The result is a phono stage designed to deliver greater bass authority, relaxed midrange reproduction and increased openness at the top end, helping the music sound more effortless and emotionally engaging.
Precision Analog Circuit Design
At the heart of the Black Cube SE is a carefully developed phono circuit with precision passive RIAA equalisation. The design is intended to maintain accurate tonal balance while preserving the transient information and low-level detail contained in the record groove.
Its low-noise input stages are designed to handle the delicate signals produced by both MM and MC cartridges, helping the system reveal fine detail, texture and spatial information from vinyl recordings.
Flexible Cartridge Matching
The Black Cube SE provides four gain settings from 36dB to 66dB, allowing it to be matched to a broad range of MM and MC cartridges.
Selectable input impedance settings of 47kΩ, 1kΩ and 100Ω provide further flexibility, while the custom-load option and hardwire slot allow more specialised cartridge configurations for demanding analog systems.
The Pwx Power Supply
The external PWX power supply is a defining feature of the Black Cube SE. Designed to provide significantly greater power reserves than the standard Black Cube power supply, it is intended to support a more powerful, relaxed and effortless presentation.
The PWX can be positioned close to the turntable drive, while the shielded connection between the power supply and audio section helps maintain a clean and carefully controlled signal environment. Gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors provide a secure connection between the two units.
